Okay, professional voice ON. I’m a UK & destination wedding photographer and videographer. Which basically means I get to spend my time documenting one of the biggest, most emotional, slightly chaotic days of people’s lives.

Not just the obvious bits either. Yes, the aisle. The confetti. The dance floor when things get a little loose later on. But also the smaller things happening around the edges of the day — the looks across the room, the quiet moments, the hugs that sneak up on you when no one’s really paying attention.

So what gets me out of bed at 5am and travelling across the country (or the world) with a car full of camera gear? The fact that by the end of it all, I’ve captured something you’ll be able to step back into years from now.

Listen… I’ve been to a lot of weddings. I know exactly what the “standard” wedding gallery usually looks like and don’t worry - those important family group photos will absolutely happen.

But let’s be honest for a second. The photos people actually end up framing and hanging on the wall aren’t usually the posed ones. They’re the real moments. The ones you didn’t even realise were happening at the time. The hugs, the reactions, the slightly chaotic bits in between everything else. That’s the stuff that makes your wedding feel like your wedding.

And then there are the details. I know how much time, effort (and money) goes into planning the dress, the flowers, the little touches, decor, flower selection, every single intricate detail you’ve spent months thinking about. Of course I’m going to capture those too.

And if the idea of being in front of a camera makes you a little nervous, you’re definitely not alone. I still get nervous myself... The good news is you don’t need to suddenly become Britain’s Next Top Model. My job isn’t to choreograph every second of your day, it's to make you so comfortable that you are whole-heartedly and authentically yourselves. I’ll give you a bit of guidance when you need it, and the magic will follow. Trust me, you’ll be so caught up in your newly-wed bubble that the camera won’t even be on your mind.
